Episode 75: A Guard By Any Other Name…

episode-75-banner

It’s our third anniversary episode; what better way to celebrate than with a codex review? This time, it’s the Astra Militarum, or as everyone (but Dennis) will call them, the Imperial Guard. How has the Hammer of the Emperor fared in this new version? Did what they gain make up for what they lost? Are they an answer to the armies that have been dominating the metagame for months? Was Betamax truly the harbinger of Chaos? We try to address these and other questions in this episode. Also, hobby and gaming progress, a spot of news, and we give our thanks to you, the listeners, for three years of good times and hopefully more to come!

I know, right? At least at the time we recorded, it was completely rumor. It’ll be interesting to address next week when we record again.

Yes indeed. Things are getting pretty interesting. I cant wait til the book drops and we actually know what they changed. Whats gonna happen to battle brothers? %s? Sideboards whaaaaat?

The way I read the rules for the priest he only acquires the rerolls while locked in combat. Still awesome though and will add to my list.

This is correct, and we’ll make sure to give Kevin the proper corrective beatings. 🙂 That said, I still wouldn’t want to face down a unit of conscripts with a priest in assault.

Amen, I’m picturing 50 conscripts running up field with a platoon commander for orders, primaris psyker for rerolls, priest for when they make it to combat, and commissar to keep them in the fight. Awesomesauce. Love you stuff – keep it coming!
